Lewis Hamilton showed up at the Lakers vs Warriors game on Friday wearing a $225,000 Patek Philippe watch to witness LeBron James destroy the Warriors. Meanwhile, F1 fans demanded answers from the 7-time world champion.

For a long time, Hamilton has been endorsing IWC watches and fans usually expect him to keep up with the alliance in his public appearances. However, across the Atlantic, he ditched his commercial commitment with IWC to flaunt the luxurious Patek Phillippe timepiece.

An Instagram account, insaneluxurylife, pointed out that Hamilton wore a Nautilus 5980 Chronograph in 18k rose gold. The Genevan watchmaker launched this series in 2013 and instantly garnered attention from many celebrities.

F1 fans question Lewis Hamilton’s commercial commitments

Hamilton is usually spotted wearing his iconic IWC watches. The Swiss watchmaker has even introduced some of the watches under the Big Pilot series for Hamilton himself. Despite that when Hamilton was found flaunting some other luxury brand, fans instantly took the opportunity to call him out.

Hamilton attended the game with great enthusiasm as he witnessed LA Lakers’ LeBron James destroy Steph Curry and Co. Lakers took the victory against Warriors in Game 6 to head into the Western Conference Finals. The Lakers are set to face Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference.

After the game, Hamilton posted a picture of himself on his Insta account saying “Great night to be a Lakers fan.” Furthermore, in a different post, Hamilton said, “Great game, great energy.”
