Formula 1 Cars 2023 Reveal: When Will AlphaTauri Release Their Car?

The AlphaTauri name in F1 is a very recent addition, but the outfit goes way back. They were formed as Scuderia Toro Rosso back in 2006 and became one of the two teams to be owned by Red Bull. Over the years, some of the biggest names in F1 went on to drive for them. This was because they acted as a junior team for the Red Bull academy members before they made the big jump.

The likes of Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen, and Carlos Sainz are some of the big names to have driven for AlphaTauri/Toro Rosso. However, despite their affiliation with Red Bull, they have not been nearly as successful. They have had some great seasons where they challenged for podium places and were in the points on a regular basis. Unfortunately, 2022 was not their year.

Their car was much slower than it had been in the previous two seasons. Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda gave their best, but could not take AlphaTauri out of the ninth position come the end of the season. They finished in front of Williams, with just 35 points to their name.

When will AlphaTauri release their 2023 Formula 1 car?

Red Bull will be the first team to launch their F1 car. They will do so in the form of an event in New York on 3rd February 2023. Williams and Alfa Romeo will be the next two teams to reveal their respective cars to the world.

AlphaTauri will be the fourth team to do a car launch, and they will reveal their challenger on the 11th of February. They will follow the footsteps of their sister company Red Bull, by having their launch in New York.

Nyck de Vries to lead AlphaTauri’s new charge to the front?

AlphaTauri enter the 2023 season with a new driver pairing. Gasly was a Red Bull junior and was with the outfit since 2017, but felt that he had to move elsewhere to make it big in F1. As a result, the Frenchman decided to join Alpine.

Nyck de Vries, who impressed on his F1 debut as Alex Albon’s stand-in at Williams was given the nod. He joined the outfit and will team up with Tsunoda who has been with the Faenza-based squad for two years now. However, Red Bull chief Helmut Marko feels that since de Vries is a more experienced racer with an F2 and Formula E Title under his belt already, he will be the one leading the team.

These comments did not sit well with Tsunoda, who simply replied that the faster driver will be leading AlphaTauri in 2023.
