Horror-Struck Fans React to Max Verstappen and Red Bull’s Plans of Bringing Upgrades to the Spanish GP

Horror-Struck Fans React to News About Red Bull Bringing In Upgrades to Increase Max Verstappen’s Dominance in Spain

Up until now, the 2023 season has seen Red Bull dominate every single race. Out of the six races so far, the Milton-Keynes-based outfit has won all, with Max Verstappen taking home four of those race wins. No team has come close to threatening them so far, and it’s unlikely that they’ll do so in the coming races. This is because Red Bull will be bringing in major performance-boosting upgrades to the Spanish GP next week.

After winning the 2021 and 2022 world championships, Verstappen is the favorite to win the title again. However, this season, his dominance is even more eye-catching because Red Bull has built arguably the strongest car we’ve seen in the sport for a long time. Fans who want to see competitive action at the front aren’t particularly happy and reports of their latest set of upgrades have left them even more wary of what is to come.

The Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona is already a track that people feel will suit Red Bull. It’s long main straight will play to the strength of the RB19, but with further upgrades, Red Bull might just become virtually invincible in the races moving forward.

Fans react to Red Bull brining in more upgrades to Barcelona

The Spanish GP is set to take place this coming weekend, and the excitement levels aren’t as high for people who aren’t supporting Verstappen. Hometown hero Fernando Alonso is approaching the race with great anticipation as the whole crowd will be praying for his 33rd race win, but if Red Bull’s upgrades do make them better than they already are, he is in for a tough time.

“We are going to try something new in Barcelona,” Helmut Marko said as quoted by RBR News on Twitter. Fans were terrified after seeing what Marko had to say about their plans in the coming weeks.

De la Luna wrote on Twitter, “Red bull doesn’t need no upgrades wth is wrong with them????

Former Red Bull systems engineer turned content creator Dan – EngineMode11 to was surprised to see Red Bull introduce upgrades so early into the season.

Another fan on Twitter tried reasoning with the Milton-Keynes-based outfit’s admin. “No please stop,” the fan wrote. “No red bull upgrades. What upgrades? The car is a rockship anyways.”

What upgrades will Max Verstappen’s team get?

As per GP Blog, Marko admitted that they will try something new in Spain this weekend. However, what upgrade they are going ahead with, was not revealed by the 79-year-old Austrian.

So far, the RB19 hasn’t really shown any signs of weakness whatsoever. The car has performed well in high speed circuits like Azerbaijan, and also low speed ones like Monaco, as we saw last weekend.

Regardless, Max Verstappen is expected to dominate the 2023 Spanish GP. Currently the 25-year-old is 39 points ahead of second-placed Sergio Perez in the drivers’ championship standings.
