“Lewis Hamilton is certainly one of the best drivers ever”- Max Verstappen showers respect for 7-time World Champion
“Lewis is certainly one of the best drivers ever”- Max Verstappen showers respect for his senior and now rival Lewis Hamilton.
Lewis Hamilton even though being multiple times more successful than Max Verstappen, now shares a budding rivalry with the Red Bull superstar.
And Verstappen acknowledges his greatness, as in a recent interview with Ziggo Sport, he has claimed that Hamilton is among the greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time and has massive respect for the Briton for what he has achieved in the last decade.
“That’s there anyway, and of course it will grow over the years. It’s also quite normal when seventeen- eighteen-year-old enters the sport that it takes a while, but now it’s actually quite normal. He is very nice.”
“Everyone has their own life outside Formula 1, but when we sit there we can make jokes laugh. …. We get along very well with each other.” He added.

A fallback from anybody can win with Mercedes?
A recent statement by Verstappen went out of proportion when he said that anybody in the current F1 grid can win with a Mercedes car.
Now the Dutch driver has added context to his statement and said that Hamilton despite driving a Mercedes is among the greatest of all time.
“Lewis is certainly one of the best drivers ever. … Many drivers can win in that car, but that doesn’t take anything away from Lewis,” says Verstappen.
The Dutchman explains Hamilton’s racing skills using an example: “A good example is Turkey, where of course it was very difficult and where Lewis eventually won the race by just staying on the track and not making any mistakes. If you see where Valtteri ended up, with the same car, you can, of course, see the difference between a top driver and a good driver.”
