Max Verstappen Reminisces Sebastian Vettel’s Dominant F1 Cars Despite Having a Beast in RB19
Max Verstappen is currently drawing one of the most dominant eras in the history of Formula 1 with his mighty RB19. However, he misses the cars from the early 2010s as he thinks that they were more agile. Back then also, his team, Red Bull, was dominating with Sebastian Vettel inspiring them to innumerable wins.
“I think, in general, we have to try and get away from, but it’s very hard – is just a weight increase. When you jump back in an old car, you definitely feel. The difference in how agile an old car was,” said Verstappen, as per Racingnews365.
When talking about the new age cars, Verstappen claims even the tires that are now 18-inch adds more weight to the car. So, for him, everything is working in the wrong direction. He is even puzzled about how F1 cars can be improved from hereon.
Max Verstappen isn’t alone
This sentiment shared by Verstappen isn’t unique in the paddock. Multiple other drivers also are fond of cars from the previous generation.
Lando Norris, who was having an early boom to his career with Mclaren in the cars from the last generation, now despises the new age cars. The 23-year-old claims that he is more suited to the cars of the previous generation.
But Norris has a reason to state this dislike. Unlike Verstappen, he does not have a championship-winning car. On the contrary, McLaren has only dipped in performance since 2021.

Blessed with the new regulations
Probably Verstappen was more fond of the cars when Vettel was running the sport. However, Red Bull has given him a car, which for many, is the most dominant force ever created in the sport.
And RB19 is on the right trajectory to validate that claim. In the five races so far this season, all of them have been won by Red Bull, with three in Verstappen’s account and the other two won by Perez.
In his 168 career starts, Max Verstappen only has 5 finishes outside of the top 10 😳
Talk about talent 📈

Thus, the Dutchman is rejoicing in yet another smooth travel to the glory. Though, his own teammate Perez is the biggest thorn that needs to be dealt with on the way. And many expect Verstappen to overcome that and be a three-time world champion before the season ends.
