Max Verstappen Should Hope and Pray Lando Norris Fails at Dutch GP for Hatching Naughty Plans Against Home Hero

Lando Norris created immense chaos at the Hungarian Grand Prix last month after he broke Max Verstappen’s hard-earned trophy. A month later, it seems that the Briton may have similar plans in mind. The 23-year-old recently liked a Tweet, where a fan put up a meme about the McLaren driver and the Dutch Grand Prix trophy. Now, it seems like Verstappen will need to be careful to ensure that a similar incident does not take place again.

Norris broke Verstappen’s trophy last month while he performed his iconic celebration. As always, the McLaren driver popped up the champagne to celebrate. However, on this occasion, he also knocked the Dutchman’s trophy in the process.

The incident made headlines because the $44,500 trophy was symbolic. The trophy represents Hungarian culture since it is made of handmade porcelain. Moreover, it also took six months to make it.

Therefore, the drivers will try their best to ensure that there is no repeat of such a scenario. However, it seems that the fans would like to see a repeat of the incident.

F1 fans react as Lando Norris cheekily likes a post

The breaking of the trophy continued in F1 next weekend at the Belgian GP. Verstappen revealed, “It’s broken again, the trophy’s broken again.” However, this time Norris had nothing to do with it and it was done while the Red Bull team were celebrating their record 12th victory this season.

Although many were unhappy to see the Hungarian Grand Prix trophy break, some fans such as Khushali seem keen to see Lando Norris extend his run of breaking trophies.

Meanwhile, some other fans such as Nini have predicted that the 23-year-old will break yet another trophy.

And then there are some other fans such as Zander who have hilariously labelled Norris as the “trophy slayer“. They point out that it would be a “shame” if something will now happen to the Dutch Grand Prix trophy this weekend.

The Dutch GP trophy

The 2023 Dutch Grand Prix trophy has now been revealed, as per a report put out by racingnews365.com. The report states that as per designer Studio Piet Boon, this year’s trophy represents a redesign of the cup awarded at the 1939 Dutch GP.

This year’s trophy features the Netherlands’ Royal Coat of Arms and the winner of the race will receive a trophy with heraldic lions in gold. Meanwhile, the second-placed driver will receive the trophy with heraldic lions in red and the third-place driver will receive it in green.

Since these trophies are crafted in ceramic, it is symbolic of the Netherlands’ centuries-old history and tradition of porcelain and earthenware.

It is this reason why the Dutch Grand Prix Twitter’s handle has hilariously put up a post that states that drivers should aim to break records and not trophies. That is not it, as the post also states that the trophy is fragile.
