"That's Not Cool": Christian Horner Criticized for His 'Antsy' Comments on Carlos Sainz After Italian Grand Prix

Carlos Sainz gave a very bold performance in Monza last weekend when he valiantly defended against world champion Max Verstappen for the P1 position. However, by the middle of the race, Sainz had conceded his edge to the Dutchman. But the ‘strong efforts’ by Sainz felt not so neat by Christian Horner, and he made some comments towards it that made SkySports journalist Ted Kravitz present a robust defense for the Spaniard during his notebook.

Horner claimed that in Sainz‘s defense, the Ferrari star was a little too late. He also stated that the 29-year-old driver acted like his life was ‘dependent’ on that performance.

But for Kravitz, the comments by Horner were not ‘cool’ if they were made in an antsy way. As per Kravitz, Sainz was right in what he did, as the place where he was racing demanded such behavior to bring out the best result for his team.

Ted Kravitz calls Christian Horner’s comments uncool

Kravitz, reacting to the comments made by Christian Horner, indeed agreed that Sainz’s life was dependent on it. So, he had to be intense while facing Verstappen for the P1 position.

“I thought that comment from Christian Horner when he said Sainz was defending as if his life depended on it… if Horner meant that in a sort of antsy way, well that’s not cool Because you know what? His life depended on it, Sainz’s. Because you know what? His life did depend on it, Carlos Sainz’s life did depend on it,” said Kravitz.

Nevertheless, Sainz recorded an impressive P3, and on the other hand, Charles Leclerc secured an impressive P4 that gave Ferrari a 27-point haul at Monza. Meanwhile, Horner was not the only team principal to get bashed for their opinions.

Toto Wolff slammed for comments against Red Bull

While Kravitz criticized Horner, Martin Brundle, and Damon Hill criticized Mercedes boss Toto Wolff for playing down Max Verstappen and Red Bull‘s dominance.

Reacting to Verstappen’s 10 straight wins record, Wolff claimed it is all for Wikipedia. The comment seemed to be condescending towards the world champion.

Regardless of Wolff’s comments, Verstappen actually achieved something historic. However, the Dutchman claims the 11th win could be complicated as it will be a challenging week for Red Bull.
