Ubisoft is receiving a lot of backlash from its audience on its latest policy. The fans will lose their Ubisoft accounts and all the video games in their possession upon failing to log in to their accounts regularly.

Ubisoft is one of the big names in the video game industry for its video games. They are the makers of famous series like Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia, and Far Cry. They have received a lot of praise from the audience for these incredible titles. But they have also faced a lot of criticism from the same audience.

The French developers failed to leave a mark with the last few titles. Fans weren’t much impressed with those games. But Ubisoft managed to upset their fans even more with a new policy. With so many games Ubisoft plans to release in the future, this unique approach can be disastrous for them.

Ubisoft will delete inactive accounts

Many fans have recently complained about permanently losing their Ubisoft accounts. The French company then clarified that users who don’t regularly log in to their account will lose it. Moreover, losing the Ubisoft account would also mean losing access to all the games they purchased via that account.

However, the fans might not have too much to fear. Before deleting any account, Ubisoft will inform the users via email. Further, they would give them a 30 days window by temporarily deactivating their accounts. So if the users log in within this period, they can keep the account and all their games.

Although the French organization allows fans to maintain inactive accounts, it may still cause mayhem. After all, many people do not check their emails regularly and may miss this notification. So it still is a worrying policy for Ubisoft that can cause many problems.

Fans are not happy with the new policy

It’s hardly surprising that fans are upset with Ubisoft’s new policy of terminating inactive accounts. Some argued that if they wish to keep their customers, such a rule shouldn’t exist in the first place. Many fans also questioned the legality of Ubisofts new rule to delete inactive accounts. They also pointed out the flaws of this new rule.

It would be interesting to see whether Ubisoft will take note of these adverse reactions from the users to their new rule. If you found it intriguing, click here for the first closed beta for Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade.
