Kick issued a warning to xQc after he was trying to flout DMCA policy by playing Dark Knight on his stream. Eventually, he was removed from the directory after he played Breaking Bad for Movie Night on the platform.

Before streaming Breaking Bad on the platform, xQc had streamed Dark Knight and could potentially be faced with a DMCA notice by Warner Bros.

It was brought to his attention by Kick Mods that the streamer had to stop the broadcast because of policy violations.

Just days after that, xQc was seen announcing a Breaking Bad watch party to his audience and Kick had to take drastic steps.

Kick shadow bans xQc after the Breaking Bad stream

Since he joined the platform, xQc was placed at the top of the directory and the audience was able to see his clip as a Trending one. However, things changed quickly after his Breaking Bad stream.

In a clip uploaded on r/Livestream fail, moistcr1tikal showed his audience the Kick homepage, and xQc was nowhere to be seen. Explaining to his audience what was happening, moistcr1tikal said:

“So he’s still live, but you won’t find him here (pointing to the Just Chatting category). You have to go to his channel to find it. They’re clearly shadow banning him.”

Moistcr1tikal then explained to his audience that Kick must have been fearful because of the notices that came there easily because of xQc. He said:

“They’re fearful now, because they know this can’t fly. So you have to directly to his channel now.”

He also claimed that he was unable to understand what xQc was trying to pull by pulling stunts like these back to back, even after getting warned by the platform mods.

Even during the Dark Knight watch party, xQc was warned by the moderator as they wrote in the chat about the DMCA policy. They wrote:

Hello there, we would like to notify you that streaming the specific content is in violation of our DMCA policy. Therefore, we kindly ask you to stop your live stream…”

The streamer was further informed that the particular stream in question would get removed from the platform.

To what extent can streamers go on Kick?

Since Kick came into existence, its policies have been known to be more relaxed than its immediate rival, Twitch. This and the payout difference have been one of the main reasons why streamers are making a move to the channel.

However, people have been asking, “How much is too much on Kick?”

The controversy started when Adin Ross streamed explicit content to his underage audience. From there on, streamers have been trying to breach boundaries that Kick sets.

Even though Adin wasn’t banned, it sparked a lot of controversies, and another streamer HealMike got banned from the platform for 24 hours for live streaming himself having s**.

In front of all these, xQc crime might look petty, but it could be the one to cost the platform the most. DMCA notices are the ones that affect a platform the most in the long run.
