Glenn Maxwell run-out vs Pakistan: Watch Maxwell's brilliant fielding effort hands Australia third 2019 World Cup victory

Glenn Maxwell run-out vs Pakistan: Australian all-rounder was at his usual best on the field against Pakistan at Taunton.

During the 17th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between Australia and Pakistan at Taunton, Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell put on display an exceptional fielding effort to register Australia’s third victory of the tournament.

It all happened on the fourth delivery of the 46th over when Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed’s act of backing up too far ended up being costly for him. Watching Shaheen Shah Afridi defending a Kane Richardson delivery to Maxwell at cover, Ahmed was way out of his crease when Maxwell produced a direct-hit.

Before doing the same, Maxwell jumped to the best of his abilities to catch the ball one-handed. With just over a stump to aim, Maxwell made sure he put an end to an inspiring comeback from the opposition.

Ahmed, who came in to bat at No. 5 in the 26th over, ended up scoring 40 (48) with the help of one four. Chasing a 308-run target, Pakistan got bundled out for 266 in 45.4 overs.

Having scored his sixth half-century, opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq top-scored for his team scoring 53 (75) with the help of seven fours. With bowling figures of 10-0-33-3, Australia fast bowler Pat Cummins was the pick of Australian bowlers.

After Ahmed won the toss put the opposition in to bat, Australia got all out on 307 in 49 overs. Opening batsman David Warner’s 15th ODI century played a pivotal role in Australia posting such a total. From Pakistan, left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir registered his maiden five-wicket haul.
