“He got really hyper off it”: Rob Holding Reveals Alexander Lacazette Went Bonkers After Spat With Jurgen Klopp: The Arsenal defender has only just signed a fresh contract at the club

Speaking to The Telegraph after penning down a new deal at Arsenal, one which keeps him at the club till 2024, Rob Holding has gone onto reveal what really transpired during Arsenal and Liverpool’s fixture last season.

Fouling Sadio Mane as he caught him and thumped him to the ground, Holding was subjected to the ire of Liverpool’s bench. The club was far from impressed by the Arsenal defender with Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp getting involved in thick of things as well.

As things spilt over and the situation got out of control, both the clubs were seen getting involved in a massive bustup. And Holding has now gone onto reveal that Alexander Lacazette lost his head after seeing Klopp berate him.

What was Said?

“There were words said, and Jurgen Klopp got involved,” Holding said. “We were all giving each other a bit of stick.

“I remember it getting Lacazette going, he got really hyper off it. People were telling me to relax and keep my head, but I was fine. I don’t mind that. It was a little thing that ignited the team. And for me personally it was important to do that, to stand up for myself.”

Holding has only currently sealed his future at Arsenal. Despite seeing his current contract run till 2023, Arsenal were eager to further extend it when the player agreeing to put ink to paper to a fresh deal.

His new tenure will now keep him at the club till 2024 with Arsenal having an option to further extend the contract by a year. Holding has steadfastly made himself a mainstay of Arsenal’s defence under Arteta with the defender recording two cleansheets and an assist in his last two matches.
