Hulkster reportedly ‘opened talks’ with Vince McMahon about a remarkable comeback to the company just two years after he was axed over racist remarks

According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there has been talk within WWE of bringing Hulk Hogan back to the company.

While the star power is obviously there, the biggest concern is how the potential media backlash would effect the company’s sponsors. Hogan has had several controversial episodes in the past, regarding various racial comments and sexual incidents. This led to his dismissal from the company in July 2015.

While there have been talks of Hogan returning to WWE in the past, there has also been talks of him returning with another company in a big angle. However, it would not have made economic sense and it might also be perceived that he was going to another company simply to attempt to get back at the WWE.

Now reports are claiming that the 64-year-old is on the verge of making a comeback for the 25th anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw in January.

Legends such as The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels have already been confirmed for the landmark occasion.

And Hogan’s potential homecoming would certainly raise a few eyebrows following his axing from the promotion in 2015 after audio emerged of him making racist remarks, leading to him being removed from WWE’s Hall of Fame.

The legendary Real American apologised for his comments, but wrestling officials removed all references to his legacy from their programmes and website.
