Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, India captain Virat Kohli admitted the match to be a marquee event all over the world and a match which brings out the best from the Indian team. “It’s been competitive for years, it’s a marquee event all over the world, honour to be a part of the big game. Brings out the best in all of us,” Kohli was quoted as saying.

Laying emphasis on executing the game plans well, Kohli also talked about the mindset going into such a clash. What will further put a lot of pressure on India is their effort to defend their unbeaten spree in World Cup against Pakistan.

“For Sunday, we know we’re there when it comes to the mindset. Just about going out there and having a game plan, executing it. As soon as you enter the field, it’s calm and relaxed. The atmosphere from the outside, for the first time, it’s a bit intimidating, but we’ll look to execute well,” Kohli said.

Even Sarfraz Ahmed, Kohli’s counterpart for Sunday, admitted to the match against India being a ‘big match’. “India-Pakistan is a big match so we’ll try our level best,” Ahmed had said yesterday during the post-match presentation ceremony of Pakistan’s match against Australia at Taunton.
