India’s Probable Playing XI for 2nd Test against Sri Lanka
Eden Gardens Test that ended in a draw was not the kind of result India have hoped for. With showers played its part for the starting couple of days, both the teams still showed some great character in pursuit of winning it. So that was not a dull draw indeed.
Now it is all about showing who is going one nil up in the series with two more matches left. The second Test is scheduled to be played tomorrow at the VCA Stadium, Nagpur.
Shikhar Dhawan will not play the second Test which means Murali Vijay is back in the squad. He will look to explore his options left in his armour after quite a long time.
Dhawan is still in contention for the third Test which will be based on the results in the second match. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been released from the squad as told by BCCI.
This presents a wonderful chance for Vijay Shankar who himself admitted that he didn’t expect India team call-up. The Tamil Nadu all-rounder will look to announce his arrival.
In the first Test, seamers stole the show as no spinners picked wickets. Virat Kohli used the seamers well and got benefited as the conditions sensed a drastic change.
With the Nagpur pitch greenish and dry, once again it will assist the quicks. The conditions in there is a bit more different to that of Eden Gardens’ one.
