IPL 2017 Fantasy Guide: Fantasy Tips for Delhi Daredevils vs Kings XI Punjab

Two underachieving teams take on each other at the Feroz Shah Kotla today. The Delhi Daredevils have always shown faith in the domestic players, a school of thought advertised by our very own Rahul Dravid. He has  always wanted the IPL to be more about developing the domestic talent and about giving these Indian youngsters a taste of the international circuit. The foreign recruits are just here to complete the final puzzle, the base has to be strengthened by the domestic players. So, it is just a matter of time that these domestic players step up and probably pull of a ‘Leicester City’ like season.

Kings XI have been buoyed by the clarity of thought that Virender Sehwag brings with him. He has instilled a fearless attitude in his players, who are ready to experiment in order to emerge victorious, rather than just playing the waiting game. There is a sense of pro activeness now, and it feels as if they are not afraid of doing things out of the ordinary, no matter what the outcome of that move be.

This match would be won in the battle between the Kings XI bowling unit and the Delhi Daredevils top order, both of which are highly dominated by domestic players.

Maxwell and Miller have come good as of now for the Kings XI and they’ll be looking for another fruitful outing to help them cement their place at the top of the table. Delhi on the other hand rode on Samson’s breathtaking performance the other night to give them their first win of their campaign. They would be hoping for more such performances from their young Indian stars.

Let’s get to business now!

Now, I already have Glenn Maxwell in my side for this game!

The first player that I bring into my side is Chris Morris. He scored an unprecedented 38 of 9 balls in the last game, tonking the ball to all parts of the ground and then delivering with the ball as well. He is DDs most trusted death bowler, bowling at least 2 in the final 4. You wouldn’t want to miss out on his all round skills.

Hashim Amla played a painful innings at the Eden Gardens, as he was stifled by the slow bowlers. The Feroz Shah Kotla would be even more sluggish and thus I don’t feel that Amla can create a lot of impact tonight.

My search for a permanent wicketkeeper in my XI is still not done with. Jadhav seemed like the ideal choice, but with ABD and Virat both coming in ahead of him, I don’t think Jadhav can be of much use coming in at number 4 with just 4 overs to play with. I could instead go with Pant, who has the mantle of taking control of the entire Delhi middle order. He has been in fine form off late and I think I can I can keep him as my wicket keeper for the entire tournament.

David Miller comes way too down the order to interest me and thus I leave him out.

For the uncapped player I get in Shahbaz Nadeem, as he could very well exploit the inherent sluggish nature of Feroz Shah Kotla. Shreyas Iyer could be another good option but I would wait for him to first get a good score in and only then get him into my consideration set.

Captain: Chris Morris(because all of his all round abilities)

Now, I already have Glenn Maxwell, Sandeep Sharma and Rishab Pant in my team for this game.

I bring in Chris Morris for the reasons mentioned in the IPL Fantasy League section.

I don’t see the need to bring in any other player for this game as we don’t know how the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch will behave.

Batting Star: Glenn Maxwell

Bowling Star: Chris Morris

Happy Team picking 🙂
