Is Kedar Jadhav playing in today's match vs Bangladesh

Is Kedar Jadhav playing in today’s match vs Bangladesh: The conundrum regarding the Indian all-rounder continues to pile on.

India and Bangladesh are all set to lock horns on the last day of the warm-up matches for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The match is being played at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

It was Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza, who won the toss and chose to field on conditions which will suit him and other Bangladesh fast bowlers. “We will bowl first. The wicket was under cover for the last few days, mostly everyone are playing today.

“Our last match [against Pakistan] was washed out. They [India] are one of the biggest sides in the tournament, it’s going to be tough. But let’s see,” Mortaza was quoted as saying.

On the contrary, India captain Virat Kohli disclosed that even he wanted to bowl first. Kohli had put his batsmen in to bat against New Zealand in testing conditions in a bid to face a strong New Zealand bowling attack. “We would’ve bowled first as well. First game we batted first, similar conditions, we put ourselves to challenging situations,” Kohli was quoted as saying at the toss.

India all-rounder-duo of Kedar Jadhav and Vijay Shankar were undoubtedly attracting the eyeballs before the second warm-up match. With both of them recovering from injuries, there is a lot of curiosity regarding the same. Being asked about the same, Kohli announced the changes.

“We are not pushing guys to do too much in these warm-up games. The fact that we are playing on the 5th [June] gives us more days to prepare than the other teams. We just want to focus on our energy levels.

“We have played a lot of cricket compared to all other teams. Kedar [Jadhav] still won’t be able to compete. Still recovering from the shoulder injury. Vijay Shankar is fine. We are playing 14 today, instead of 13,” Kohli added.
