The BCCI has made new contracts for the members of the Indian cricket team with Ravindra Jadeja being the biggest winner of them all. (Jadeja wins big as Team India gets new contracts )
Jadeja has now been upgraded to a Class A contract and will join the likes of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and R Ashwin as the premium earners.
The BCCI central contracts have three categories, A,B and C with each earning an annual retainer of Rs 2 crore, Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakhs receptively. These fees will be effective from October 1.
Each player will earn Rs 15 lakhs per Test, Rs 6 lakhs per ODI and Rs 3 lakhs per T20. (Jadeja wins big as Team India gets new contracts )
The biggest surprise from the list was the exclusion of Suresh Raina. Raina was an integral member of the limited overs team until last year but was not able to land a contract from the BCCI.
The 30 year old made his comeback in the T20 series against England but failed to make a big impression. While he was named the captain of the UP team he did not participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy neither did he get a spot in the Deodhar Trophy.
Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay have also been given Grade A contracts highlighting the importance that the BCCI gives to the performance of their players in Test cricket. (Jadeja wins big as Team India gets new contracts )
