Jose Mourinho situation

The latest development on Jose Mourinho situation suggests that the manager could be sacked before the game against Juventus – on one condition.

Manchester United are going through a rough patch at the moment. The club has lost three Premier League matches out of eight, with only 13 points. Jose Mourinho’s side is currently 8th in the league.

The season is marred by controversies off the pitch, as the tussle between Mourinho and the board, and then between Mourinho and the players has often grabbed headlines. Manchester United’s lack of signings in the transfer window has often been criticized by the manager in press conferences.

After their loss to lower-league side Derby County, Mourinho and midfielder Paul Pogba were caught arguing during a training session.

The club will play Chelsea as they return to Premier League this weekend, as Mourinho makes a return to Stamford Bridge. Maurizio Sarri’s side are in top form at the moment, scoring 20 points from their first 8 matches. Chelsea are yet to concede a defeat this season and Eden Hazard is currently the top-scorer in the league with 7 goals.

And so, as Jose Mourinho enters the Stamford Bridge, there would be a significant pressure on the Portuguese to get a result from the match. The relevance of the result doesn’t only lie on Manchester United’s position in the league, however.

Jose Mourinho situation:

Sky Italia reports that the possibility of Mourinho staying at Manchester United lies on the result of the game against Chelsea. It is reported that if the result isn’t favorable, Mourinho could be sacked before the match against Juventus.

Federico Zancan, the journalist of the Italian outlet has reported that Mourinho could be sacked if United failed to deliver the result on Saturday.

“The victory against Newcastle has hidden them from the problems, but this Saturday at Stamford Bridge is a serious game and then there will be the one in the Champions League against Juventus,” reports Zancan.

Zancan insisted that the relationship between Mourinho and the board is tense at the moment and a negative result could result in a sack.

“Exoneration before Juventus would take a very heavy defeat. The relationships are not solid with the company and some other negative result could also lead to the removal of Mourinho even if at this moment it is difficult to think of such fast timings,” the journalist added.
