Lando Norris’ tweet after Sainz announcement is confusing fans as it seems that he doesn’t really know what is happening at McLaren
McLaren announced Carlos Sainz’s move today, as the Renault driver will be replacing Alonso from next season on, having signed a multi-year deal with the team.
However, McLaren haven’t really given any confirmation about who will partner Sainz at McLaren next year.
Vandoorne has been struggling with form this season and is a major concern for McLaren. He has been driving a faulty car though, one that has struggled for downforce. McLaren will need to assess if he can perform better with a proper McLaren package.
If Vandoorne is shown the door, Lando Norris, the young F2 prospect is the McLaren’s best possible bet.
According to reports, Lando Norris already has an understanding with McLaren and an announcement would be made after analysing a few of Vandoorne’s performances after the summer break.
Norris’s twitter activity has been a little confusing over the last few days, with his tweet right after the Alonso announcement and his tweet now after the Sainz announcement.
He has come up with a tweet trying to ‘figure out’ what’s happening. Maybe he isn’t quite pleased with the Sainz announcement. Is he really in line for the second McLaren seat for next year.

McLaren have a decision to make and they need to make it quick as the driver market is set to experience some more activity in the next few weeks.
Gasly could now be making a move to Red Bull, as only then would Red Bull have allowed McLaren to sign Sainz before his contract deadline of 30th September.
Do you think Lando Norris will drive for McLaren next season?
