Leon Goretzka Confirms He Spurned Transfer Offer From Liverpool Ahead Of Bayern Munich Move: The Bayern Munich midfielder affirmed that the Premier League giants were ready with an offer on the table for him.

Ahead of his 2018 transfer to Bayern Munich, Leon Goretzka had ended up attracting a slew of ardent interest in himself. With him deciding to leave Schalke during the 20171-18 season, the guile filled midfielder had seen suitors line up to indulge in his services.

There was solid interest from the Premier League as well at the time with both Arsenal and Liverpool said to have held an avid eagerness in the player. And Leon Goretzka has confirmed that Liverpool were not only his admirers but went as far as to persuading him to move to the club by dishing out a lucrative offer his way.

Speaking to The Athletic, the German midfielder talked about how he had considered Liverpool’s offer before eventually decided to switch to Bayern Munich.

“They were a consideration, of course,” Goretzka said. “They’re a great club, and their development since Klopp came has been amazing. We’re all a little proud of him winning the title.”

“I took a long time making my decision, and I was 100 per cent sure that Bayern was the right move for me.”

The move has unfolded in sensational manner for the player with him flourishing and thriving at the club. Upping the ante across the course of 2020, Goretzka has now become a mainstay of his side’s playing 11 with his ability to come up with peach of strikes seeing him slowly emerge as an extremely valuable asset.

Goretzka had decided to join Bayern Munich midway through the 2017-18 Bundesliga season with him opting to remain at Schalke for the remainder of the campaign after completing the move. However, his decision to move to a fellow Bundesliga club was not taken to kindly by Schalke’s supporters who voiced at their displeasure on the move time and time again.
