Matt Riddle on Goldberg: He’s terrible and he’s hurting people! The NXT star says he was never a fan of Goldberg but claims that he isn’t hating on him.
Goldberg and The Undertake clashed in the main event of WWE Super ShowDown in a highly anticipated match. Their bout became one of the most talked about matches at the event albeit for all the wrong reasons. Many claimed that it was the worst match they had ever witnessed and many requested the WWE to stop luring the legends and to allow them to retire in peace.
Goldberg took to Twitter to apologise to his fans for the poor showing and many readily forgave him and showed more concern for his health. However, there was one person who was not won over by Goldberg’s apology.
NXT star Matt Riddle took the opportunity to ridicule the Icon on social media. He tore into the former Universal Champion and criticised him for being dangerous in the ring.
While talking to talksport, the King of Bros claimed that he doesn’t hate Goldberg but he was never a fan and everything he’s said about him is based on facts.
Excerpt from the Interview:
“The thing for me is, and one of the reasons I was never a fan of Goldberg in the beginning when everybody was like ‘oh, he’s so good!’ I was like ‘no, he’s terrible, he’s hurting people’ and there’s nothing else. He just has three-minute matches. And that was my thing and when people say ‘who was your favourite wrestler?’ I really don’t have one. I just liked really good wrestling. That’s why I fight and I do that. So, for me, I don’t care how much money he makes, I’m just glad people were entertained. But, stick to your wheelhouse, bro. And stop headbutting doors before you wrestle. I’m not hating – I’m not hating – I’m just spitting facts and these are all facts and things he should take into consideration. And not just for me, not because he got made fun of, but for his health as well.”
