Lando Norris has been tipped as Lewis Hamilton’s natural heir in British racing circuits, as the young driver has been making giant strides in both Formula 3 and Formula 2.

He romped to victory in last year’s Formula 3 series and is currently plying his trade in Formula 2, wherein he has a 27-point lead.

With a talented young driver sweeping through the lower formulas, rumours of his move to a Formula 1 team were just waiting to break through.

Toro Rosso have jumped in on this Norris bandwagon and have apparently made contact with McLaren if they would be willing to trade their test driver to them as soon as possible.

Toro Rosso have been patiently dealing with Hartley’s mistakes all this while but feel that it is now time for Hartley to step aside and Norris to come in.

A two year loan-deal is what Toro Rosso want but McLaren are weary of this move as both Alonso and Vandoorne’s future is not certain at McLaren at the moment.

Hence McLaren came out with a rather ‘cold statement’ regarding the rumoured move.

“We are not surprised that other teams approach our drivers. They clearly believe they are as talented as we do.” a McLaren spokesperson said.

With so much speculation around his future in the Formula 1, Norris was level headed with respect to his response to all these rumours.

He told the media that his management staff was taking care of his contract details and that at present is completely focussed on the job at hand in Formula 2.

“I’m flattered by the stories but I’m focused on F2 and committed to McLaren,” Norris said.

“I leave this sort of thing to my management.” he added
