MS Dhoni has the best cricketing brain in terms of planning, says Virat Kohli

‘MSD’ can be meant in two ways. Magnificent Smart Diligent and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Both are expressed in different ways but the meaning is the same.

True to the fact that, MS Dhoni’s presence is a sheer essence that his incredible experience has helped India in many ways even under his unofficial captaincy.

The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli who hit the ‘Breakfast with Champions’ show hosted by Gaurav Kapur shared that working with MS Dhoni brought the better of himself.

Talking about the transition that made a steep bounce in Virat Kohli’s career, it just went on at a rather more sedate pace and now his bon voyage is running smoothly.

“The transition went pretty well. No one felt there’s a problem. Even on the field, no one realized that there has been a transition,” Kohli added.

Virat Kohli who gained a tremendous amount of experience working with MSDhoni has registered seven bilateral ODI series win which is the most by any captain in India.

Talking about the mutual understanding, Kohli said that he shares a great rapport with MSD in running between the wickets. Whatever MSD says, Kohli blindly follows.

“MS and I have a great understanding. For example, if we’re running between the wickets and he says two, I simply close my eyes and run. Because I’m so sure of his judgment, I know that I’ll make it,” Kohli added.

Last but not least, Kohli added that he hasn’t come across someone who has a better cricketing brain that MS Dhoni in terms of planning and getting into the scheme of things.

“I don’t think I’ve come across a better cricketing brain just in terms of planning; knowing what’s happening in the game and can be done…

Sometimes I like to follow my own instinct as well but if I ask him something eight or nine times out of 10, he tells you things that always work. So it’s a blessing to have him,” Kohli added.
