MS Dhoni celebrates his 37th birthday surrounded by family and Indian team
The former Indian captain turns 37 today.
MS Dhoni is celebrating is 37th birthday today. The former captain and wicketkeeper has been one of the key players in the Indian teams, ever since his arrival in 2004. In his 14 years of international career, MS Dhoni has won every major ICC trophy – being the only captain in the world to do so.
Dhoni is also the current captain of IPL team Chennai Super Kings, and led them to IPL title this season as the franchise made a comeback to the tournament after two years.
The wicket-keeper has played 500 international matches for India, which include 318 ODIs, 90 test matches and 92 T20Is. His ODI average of 51.37 is among the highest in the current international cricketers.
MS Dhoni stepped down from captaincy in January 2017, but is central to most on-field decisions. Virat Kohli himself admits about taking advice from Dhoni on time to time, and states that his presence is calming to the whole unit.
Dhoni’s cake-cutting
As MS Dhoni celebrates his 37th birthday, cricketers and fans alike took to social media to wish their ‘Captain Cool’. Supporters posted pictures of Dhoni, and even celebrated their birthday with their own cake-cutting.

A video of MS Dhoni celebrating his birthday with his wife Sakshi, daughter Ziva, and the staff and members of Indian team has also gone viral on social media. The video shows MS Dhoni cutting his birthday cake, while the rest sing the birthday song for captain cool.
