Anthony Davis had to leave the court in tonight’s game against the Nuggets after reinjuring the Achilles on his right foot.

It was scary to see the big man hobble off the court without placing any weight on his foot. Davis was getting into his groove after a 3-game absence following a 35-point game against Memphis.
This setback means that the Lakers will likely be without their star big man for at least a week. They would be well-advised to keep their star away from needless exertions till the postseason.

AD was having a down year before this, with his totals down to practically his rookie year numbers. There were concerns about injury and his weight, but he still looked athletically up to the mark. This injury, however, will probably mar his chances of making an All-NBA team this season.
LeBron James wants Anthony Davis to take it easy
After hobbling off the court in clear discomfort, Davis was sent for some preliminary scans. It emerged that he had indeed reinjured the tendon attached to his right Achilles.
But AD remained upbeat about his injured foot, saying there was little cause for long-term concern: “Just try and figure out the best steps after [the MRI]).”

LeBron was more circumspect, stating that the team needed to be careful about mishandling Anthony Davis: “Just overall safety and (his) health. That’s my only concern … want him to get back to himself.”
The Lakers will possibly miss AD for a week or so. This puts his availability in the marquee Nets matchup in doubt. James and co would have liked to get a statement win at full strength over KD, Kyrie and Harden. But the game looks lopsided on the surface right now.
