NBA veteran Carmelo Anthony has asked the future generations to invest in self-confidence and harnessing negative energy. 

Carmelo Anthony penned a letter to the future generation. Anthony is a ten-time All star and has a long career in the league. He has seen enough ups and downs in his NBA career. Anthony currently plies his trade for the Blazers. He was waived off by the Bulls last year in February. Melo has played for the Blazers and has been a great squad player this season .

Carmelo Anthony’s Note

NBA stars have been vocal about social issues prevalent in America. The athletes have been raising awareness in their fight against racism. Anthony wrote on the importance of self-confidence. Melo tells the future generations to trust their instincts and work on their strengths. The NBA star also wrote on the importance of harnessing negative energy to succeed in life.

Importance of self confidence

“You may feel stuck. You may feel lost. You may be confused. I’m sure you have so many questions. The unknown is what keeps you up at night, but I want you to know your thoughts are POWERFUL. Believe me when I say this, you will get through this fog and uncertainty. Know you can do anything you set your mind to. ”

Don’t let circumstances define you

The NBA veteran tells the younger lot to not back off looking at the circumstances in life. The former Knicks’ star tells them to trust their instincts and challenge themselves to improve in life.

“Learn to trust your instinct. Get rid of that doubt. challenge your fears, overcome them and make them your strengths. Your circumstances do not define who you are as a young man, especially a black boy. It’s hard for me to tell you not to be afraid. I’m still afraid.”

Importance of harnessing negative energy

Carmelo knows better than most about harnessing negative aspects and making the most out of it. The NBA veteran was written off last year when he was released by the Bulls. But the 10 time all star has bounced back and proved his naysayers wrong this season.

“The struggle of life is, and always will be, a struggle against your own weakness. Will you become cowardly and think, “I can’t do this. I’m certain to fail”? Or will you challenge the difficulties that lie ahead with the courage of your convictions and tell yourself, “I AM STRONG! oh, and by the way, I’M BLACK AND I’M PROUD”? You’re probably questioning whether or not you can become stronger still.”

Carmelo has been using all his experiences in life to motivate the youth. He is currently very vocal about the social issues in the U.S.A

“Your destiny in life will vary greatly depending on the spirit that you maintain and where you allow it to take you. Just like anything else in life, there will be good and there will be evil. The key is in how you work to overcome that evil, and harness that energy to turn it into power.”

What’s next for Carmelo Anthony?

Carmelo has been using his social media influence to fight against racism in America. He has been greatly involved in working in the community around the Black Lives Matter movement. Carmelo seems unsure about playing in the league’s restart. The Blazers currently have a win loss record of 29-37 and occupy the 9th seed in the stacked western conference.
