Back in the summer of 2016, the Golden State Warriors shocked the entire NBA community by making one move. The Warriors had just given up a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals and lost a 7 game series to LeBron James and his Cavaliers. Not long after their loss, the front office announced that the Warriors have signed Kevin Durant to the roster. This move caused a huge uproar because the newly formed team looked basically unstoppable. The Warriors had just made an NBA record by winning 73 games in the previous season. Now imagine adding KD to the same.

While everyone looks at what Kevin Durant did for the Warriors, rarely do people look the other way. Very few realize what the Warriors did for KD. Apart from making him a champion, the Warriors system really uplifted KD’s game. It was his years with the Warriors that prepared him for sharing the ball with his Nets’ superstar teammates as he does.

Kevin Durant and Draymond Green didn’t exactly finish their time as teammates together on the best terms. However, ever since, they seemed to have buried the hatchet. When Durant made an appearance on the ‘Million Dollarz Worth of Game’ podcast. There he talks the importance of having Draymond Green as a teammate.

During his time with GS, KD claims to have commented the most with Draymond and Klay Thompson. According to KD,

“My first year with the Warriors he put that s***, and I was like okay. I was like I needed that. When I was in OKC, I never had nobody that was like, that was watching me much to say like that… I wanted somebody on the bench just looking at me and be like ‘what is this n**** doing,” Durant said

Fast forward to today. Kevin Durant is headed to the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. Meanwhile, Green is rooting for his buddy to go all the way and win the title this year.
