“Giannis Antetokounmpo has more real rings than you now”: Kevin Durant mocked by NBA fans for not congratulating Bucks superstar in tweet aimed at Milwaukee’s win
Kevin Durant left out Giannis Antetokounmpo from his tweet congratulating the city of Milwaukee, and fans are going crazy because of it
Giannis Antetokounmpo finally did it. After years of blood, sweat, tears, and a lot of muscles, the kid from Greece was able to bring Milwaukee its first championship in 50 years.
Of course, it wasn’t him alone who won it. Players such as Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, PJ Tucker, Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, and many others played massive parts in this incredible run. However, given the number of times Giannis had to essentially carry the team, it would almost seem a bit disrespectful to not give him a special shoutout. And this is what the NBA community has been up in arms about for the last 24 hours.
After game 6 reached its conclusion, Nets star Kevin Durant put up a good-natured tweet, congratulating the city of Milwaukee. But, fans quickly realized that a special mention to the Greek Freak was missing severely. And since then, the reactions have ranged from hilarious, to maybe crossing the line, and sometimes even downright weird.
Let’s get into it.

“Can’t even give props to the player he challenged”: Fans weren’t pleased about Kevin Durant omitting Giannis Antetokounmpo from his tweet
Now, to be clear here, there is probably isn’t even any beef between the Slim Reaper and the Greek Freak. After all, after the Bucks beat the Nets, Durant even hugged Giannis and said “Go get you one”. That, however, is obviously never going to stop fans from starting something though.
Here is the Kevin Durant tweet that has become the point of controversy.
Nothing but respect for the Milwaukee Bucks franchise, the city of Milwaukee and those loud ass fans. Incredible playoff run fellas!

Fairly innocent right? Well, not for a lot of the NBA community it seems. Here are just some of the reactions.
Wow.. can’t even give Props to a player he challenged claiming @Giannis_An34 wasn’t even in the same conversation..! Well @KDTrey5 #giannisantetokounmpo is definitely in that same conversation; and he did it as the absolute leader of the team.. no #StephCurry involved.! #GoBucks

I really don’t get the Giannis hate from other superstars. Here, KD makes it a point to only congratulate the city and franchise. Petty AF.

Yikes.
Frankly, this is a bit unfair to Kevin Durant. After all, he was just trying to congratulate a city on a massive achievement. However, we will also say this is nothing new, and Durant is likely just ignoring all of the noise.
Either that, or we all get a new story out of it.
