“Give Shai Gilgeous-Alexander the MIP As Well As the DPOY”: NBA Twitter Hype the OKC Star For Recording Same Number of Blocks as Rudy Gobert

While the Oklahoma City Thunder remain to be one of the most underwhelming teams in the West, the emergence of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been impressive, to say the least.

SGA got traded to the Texas-based franchise in only his sophomore year and instantly showed sparks of being an All-Star in the league. Further, the dynamic guard is one of the very few players who has managed to consistently improve his stats, year after year.

Apart from witnessing considerable improvements on the offensive end, the former Kentucky Wildcat has been making strides on the defensive end as well.

NBA Twitter reacts as the OKC guard records the same number of blocks as 7ft 1’ Rudy Gobert

The Canadian hooper has been averaging 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks per game, a career-high in both.

Further, the fact that the combo-guard has the same amount (34) of blocks as Rudy Gobert, is even more impressive.

As soon as the stat went viral on social media, NBA Twitter blew up with reactions.

Does Shai Gilgeous-Alexander deserve an All-Star selection this year

There is thinking about it. Shai has been absolutely phenomenal this season. In Year 5, the man has been averaging a staggering 31.5 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game.

The 6-foot-6 guard has also managed to lead the OKC to sit merely 3 games behind the #7 Kings.

Without a doubt, Shai should be selected to play the prestigious ASG in Utah.
