“Gotta Guard Stephen Curry Till He Sits On The Bench”: LeBron James Jokingly Follows 2X MVP Down The Bench
The Golden State Warriors-Los Angeles Lakers second-round postseason contest has started with an action-packed Game 1. Despite Stephen Curry and co. going on a 14-0 run in the 4th period, the Purple & Gold managed to grab a massive 117-112 victory at the Chase Center.
While LeBron James erupted for 22 points and 11 rebounds on 37.5% FG, Anthony Davis was practically unstoppable. The former Kentucky Wildcat played a game-high 43:50 minutes and lodged 30 points, 23 rebounds, and 4 blocks.

Coming off a 50-point ball game, Chef Curry recorded a team-high 27 points while shooting the ball at an efficient 41.7/46.2/100 split.
As usual, the 2-time Most Valuable Player was pretty heavily guarded during the game. Apart from being guarded by LAL’s best perimeter defenders and witnessing double-teams on several occasions, the 6-foot-3 sharpshooter was also being defended as he made his way to the team bench.

During the 2nd quarter of the contest, as per Steve Kerr’s new rotation, Steph was being subbed out around the 7-minute mark.
With the shifty guard being in red-hot form after the 10-point 1st quarter outing, LeBron jokingly “guarded” his rival until he sat on the team’s bench.

During the postgame interview, the San Francisco-based franchise’s leader was asked about LBJ’s antics.
While the reporter asked whether the NBA’s all-time leading scorer was trying to sneak in on the GSW bench, Steph cleared the confusion. The 2-time scoring champ revealed that King James was only joking around.
“He was just joking around about having to guard me ‘til I got all the way to the bench,” Stephen said.

Despite the loss, Curry achieves an incredible feat
It was a tough loss for the defending champions. However, trimming down the 14-point lead in the final period is definitely a positive takeaway going further into the series.
The trio of Curry, Thompson, and Poole even became the first trio ever to record 6 three-pointers each in a playoff game.
Further, the 35-year-old point guard accomplished an impressive achievement. As he knocked down the 5th out of his 6 total three-pointers, the future Hall-Of-Famer became the first player ever to reach the 600 3PM milestone in playoff history. Klay Thompson comes in 2nd on the list with 483 made 3-pointers.
Stephen Curry is the first player in NBA history to make 600 Playoff threes.
