“Hello Police, Chris Paul Tryna Beat Me Up!”: Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley 'Hilariously' Roasted Clippers for 'CP3’s Rockets Tunnel March' in 2018

Inside the NBA is one of the most popular sports shows on television. Hosted by Ernie Johnson, the TNT production has a stellar cast, including Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley. Primarily focusing on the NBA, the show has given fans some hilarious moments over the years. And, the source of this comedy is more often than not the tandem of Shaq and Chuck. Back in 2018, the duo made comedy gold when they trolled the Los Angeles Clippers for calling the police after an altercation between the team and Chris Paul, who was playing for the Houston Rockets at the time.

In 2018, CP3 made his return to LA, where he faced off against his former team, the Clippers. Things got heated, as the teams clashed on several occasions. From Wesley Johnson’s goal tend to the favorable calls that went Blake Griffin’s way. Even Austin Rivers, who wasn’t playing in the game got involved. All this culminated in a confrontation, as Rockets players charged the Clippers locker room, forcing the police to get involved.

Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley’s hilarious reaction to reports that Clippers called the cops on Chris Paul

The 2018 fiasco surrounding the Los Angeles Clippers and the Houston Rockets is well known. Ending with reports that the Clips called the cops, Inside the NBA found out about it through social media. However, instead of having a serious reaction, Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley couldn’t help but laugh. What’s more, they even trolled the Clippers in the process.

Not only did they laugh at the idea of Chris Paul charging toward the locker room, but they also mocked the entire situation. Pretending to be Blake Griffin, Chuck acted like he was calling the police. All, while Shaq was uncontrollably laughing and flinging his notes in the air.

Charles Barkley: “I played in the NBA for 16 years and I been on TV for 18 years. This is the first time I’ve heard of police presence. They got a police presence? Are you kidding me? Come on man!”

Shaquille O’Neal: “Hey Chuck! Hello, police…Chris Paul trying to beat me up!”

Charles Barkley: “Hey this is Blake Griffin. Chris Paul trying to get in the locker room. Get down here and save me!”

Their reactions were downright hilarious, but fights aren’t even that uncommon in the NBA. What is, however, is the need for the police to get involved and break up the fight. And, that’s what made the altercation between the Clippers and the Rockets such a big deal.

Houston Rockets stars Trevor Ariza and Gerald Green were suspended after the altercation

Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley may have had some hilarious reactions, but the outcome of the altercation was rather serious. On the Clippers’ end, not a single player received disciplinary action. Whereas for the Rockets, stars, Gerald Green and Trevor Ariza were suspended for two games each.

This obviously didn’t sit well with Houston, who believed that Blake Griffin and Austin Rivers started the problem. But, at least their superstars, Chris Paul and James Harden escaped without even a slap on the wrist.

It certainly was an interesting time in the NBA, but it has been quite some time now. Five years have now passed since the altercation and all the players involved are either out of the league or playing for other teams.
