"I refuse to let the world take Russell Westbrook's greatness for granted": Kendrick Perkins lauds the Wizards superstar following his "casual" triple-double performance against Donovan Mitchell and co

As the Wizards grabbed a narrow win over the Jazz, Kendrick Perkins lauded Russell Westbrook for his incredible 25-14-14 triple-double.

On Monday night, Donovan Mitchell and his Jazz hosted a Bradley Beal-led Washington team at the Vivint Smart Home Arena. With the best record in the league, it was almost certain that the Utah Jazz were the favorites to win the match.

But in an incredible match between the two teams, it was the Wizards who managed to grab a close 125-121 victory. It was an outstanding match as both teams saw some crazy performances put up.

Despite the Jazz’s Mitchell and Bogdanovic putting up 42 and 33 points respectively, they couldn’t hold on to the win. Apart from Bradley Beal’s 34-point outburst, it was yet another 25-point, 14-assists and 14-rebounds triple-double show for Russell Westbrook, helping his team win.

Former NBA champion, Kendrick Perkins took to Twitter and lauded Westbrook following his dominant performance. Perkins tweeted:

“I refuse to let the world take Russell Westbrook GREATNESS for granted!!! This man has been balling this season and tonight he finished with a casual 25-14-14 and Huge W on the road against the Utah Jazz. Carry the hell on…”

Russell Westbrook records his 5th consecutive triple-double

Russell Westbrook is one of the best rebounding guards in the history of the game. He manages to leave all his energy on the floor, night in and night out. Although the 9-time All-Star hasn’t quite got the success he would’ve hoped for.

This past month, there has been a lot of criticism surrounding Westbrook. Stephen A Smith believed how putting up such insane numbers won’t really matter because he hasn’t won a championship yet. Despite many a time in his career, he did come close to winning the championship but never could win a title for any of the teams he played for.

With his incredible performance over the Jazz, Brodie records his fifth-straight triple-double. With a career total of 168 triple-doubles, he now requires only 13 more such performances to tie legend Oscar Robertson’s 181 triple-double as the most in NBA history.

Despite the Wizards being led by two MVP-type of players – Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal, the team has been underwhelming. With a poor record of 20-33, the Wizards are 12th placed in the Eastern Conference. With only 19 games left in their season, it might be difficult, although, they will have to play their hearts out to make a playoff push.
