The Minnesota Timberwolves are done. Their season came to an end as Anthony Edwards missed a game-tying three-pointer attempt from way beyond the three-point line.

This came after Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns both got fouled out of the game in the fourth quarter. In the end, the Nuggets ended up taking Game 5 112-109 and finished a gentlemen’s sweep. Nikola Jokic came up with a triple-double, scoring 28 points, grabbing 17 rebounds, and dishing 12 assists.
ANT finished the game with 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. He also had two blocks to go along with his performance. Even though he tried his best, after the game, it was ANT who felt like he cost them the series.
Anthony Edwards apologizes for ‘stinking it up’
Anthony Edwards showed us massive potential in the 2023 Playoffs. He averaged 31.6 points, 5.2 assists, and 5.0 rebounds in the five games this series. Becoming one of the best playoff performers at his age, ANT showed us what he can do. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the backup he required, burning out in the first round yet again.
After the game, ANT spoke to the press about the same. He was a true leader and took the blame on himself, despite being the best player on the squad.
“I got to play better. That’s all I got… I was 0-for-6 from three man. I stunk it up tonight.”
Before this, he had also taken having the 2nd most 30+ playoff performances before turning 22 in stride.
ANT knows how good of a player he is, but at the same time, he remains humble and knows how much more work he has to put in. That’s the best quality about him, and if he keeps it as such, this will take him far.
Charles Barkley claims the Timberwolves are in trouble
Charles Barkley is one of the analysts on-air who keeps it real, but also backs up his points with facts(at least most of the time). Tonight, after the Wolves burned out of the playoffs, he talked about how the team is in trouble.
Charles Barkley said this on Inside the NBA,
“I think they are in trouble… They’re stuck with this team. I hate the two big guys trying to play together because neither [KAT or Rudy Gobert] are good enough offensively to dominate their position when they have a size advantage every single night.”
Well, Chuck isn’t wrong. The Wolves have a lot to figure out before the next season, if they want to capitalize on ANT and his spectacular growth.
