Luka Doncic and Kevin Durant may have extremely different games, but they’ve both had incredible individual seasons.
The Slovenian had already garnered some serious respect from the NBA community after his performances during the last postseason. During this one though, he took a step further, leading Dallas to 7 games against a very impressive Clippers side.
On the other side of things, Kevin Durant during this campaign reminded everyone of how incredible a player he is. Despite suffering a devastating Achilles injury, the player didn’t lose a single step, and arguably looks better than ever. And of course, his performances against the Bucks in the Conference Semi-Finals speak for themselves.
Given how amazing they had been on the court, it seemed almost inevitable that they’d be on the cover of the coming NBA 2K. And ahead of the NBA’s 25th anniversary, the company announced them, and a few more athletes as their cover stars. Let’s get into it.
Luka Doncic, Kevin Durant and even Kareem Abdul-Jabbar react to being the cover athletes for NBA 2K22
For any NBA player or even an aspirant, being the cover athlete for 2K is a massive dream too. But, only a handful of NBA players get to ever see themselves realize that dream.
With the NBA’s 75th anniversary commencing next season, it seems that the company behind the popular game wanted to do something special. And with that in mind, they decided to release three different covers, with the likes of Luka Doncic, Kevin Durant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dirk Nowitzki, and Candace Parker being on them.
Recently, 2K Sports made sure that each of these athletes was sent a copy of the cover. And recently, clips of every athlete reacting to the cover were posted on Instagram. Take a look.
