"Joel Embiid, you're a fool bruh": Donovan Mitchell reacts to Sixers star's antics with a tweet as Embiid laughs at getting him a technical foul

Joel Embiid and Donovan Mitchell jocularly went at each other on Twitter after the Sixers beat Utah in overtime last night.

Embiid had a monster outing yet again, cementing his status as the MVP frontrunner. He totaled 40 points, 19 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a block each as Philly held off Utah.

Donovan Mitchell, on the other hand, began forcing the issue right from the start. He was above average from the 3-point line, hitting 5 of his 12 3-pointers. But his eventual total of 33 points on 12-of-34 shooting was far from ideal. The Spida was guilty of trying to force the pace too much, especially in overtime.

Nevertheless, he has reason to be aggrieved with both the outcome, as well as the circumstance leading to it. There is, after all, the small matter of an opposition lobbying successfully with referees to get him T’ed up.

Joel Embiid and Donovan Mitchell exchange pleasantries after an exciting game

Embiid definitely takes the cake among all the biggest trolls in the NBA. Joe Ingles might be a fun guy to hang around because of his quips, but Jojo is a different breed when it comes to lightening the atmosphere.

In the wake of Donovan Mitchell’s ejection for a second technical foul, Embiid posted his in-game stats to hype Sixers fans on Twitter. Donovan ventured into the comments section and left a choice insult for Embiid:

“You a fool bruh!”

Embiid totally took Donovan’s comment in stride as he replied: “Hahaha Second time I get you T’d up lmao GG”.

It was all in good humor as the Jazz and the Sixers still continue to lead their respective conferences. Embiid enters the All-Star break as the lone frontrunner in the MVP race, although the likes of LeBron, Jokic, Steph and Dame are not far behind on their heels.
