ESPN analyst Kenrick Perkins hits out at NBA legend Julius Erving as a reaction to his recent comments about LeBron James.
LeBron James is considered by many to be in the top 2 on the list for greatest players of all time, and rightly so. A 4-time MVP, 4-time NBA champion, and a 4-time Finals MVP, there aren’t many in the history of the NBA with a better career than the King.
As a player, there may not be a person who has laced up, more complete than the Chosen one. However, Julius Erving seemed to think otherwise.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Sports, the NBA legend stated that he believed the reason James is successful is because he keeps forming super teams to support himself.
Many in the NBA community have not taken kindly to this apparent ‘old head mentality. And it appears that former player and ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins is no exception.
Kendrick Perkins is furious with Julius Erving’s perception of LeBron James’s NBA career
Julius Erving comes from an era that still believes the formation of super teams is bad, and player loyalty means everything. But for the current generation of NBA fans, LeBron James helped shatter that illusion.
His decision to take his career into his own hands and move to the Heat made us think ‘If teams can make business decisions without loyalty, why can’t players do the same?’
But it seems Erving couldn’t care less about that perception. In fact, it is because of that reason, that the former player believes that LeBron isn’t even a top 2 player all time.
Responding to that frankly egregious statement, Kendrick Perkins recently posted this on Twitter.
Some of them old heads can’t even hide it no more! SMH https://t.co/EffuGHpq5p

In all honesty, it is hard to disagree with Perkins here. Damning a player for putting himself in the best possible position to win can’t be the right opinion here. And we doubt the ESPN analyst will face a backlash for his statement.
