“Warriors Know How to Dig Our Way Out!”: Steve Kerr Talks About Navigating Through Stephen Curry’s Injury and Team’s Future

The Golden State Warriors are struggling. It is clear that the 2022 NBA Champions have not yet found their stride. With Stephen Curry injured, their problems have amplified. The Warriors went 1-5 on their Eastern Conference Road Trip, putting their road record at 3-16 for the season. Steve Kerr has had to deal with many injured personnel as of late, preventing the team from finding optimal lineups.

Since Steph’s injury, the Warriors went 1-3, and are now headed home for Christmas Day matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies. With the team back home, Kerr sat and talked with 95.7 The Game’s Damon and Ratto.

During their bi-weekly chat, he gave us an update on the aura surrounding the team, and what positives they tried to draw from this road trip.

Steve Kerr compares the current rough stretch to March 2022

The Warriors have gone 3-7 in their last ten games. From winning the title in June to sitting on the 11th seed in December, the 2022 NBA Champions have fallen down quite a bit. However, it seems like the team may not be too worried. During his chat with Damon and Ratto, Kerr said,

The Warriors sure know how to fight their way out of tough spots. Their priority is getting Stephen Curry back healthy and ready, and until then, be within striking distance of a playoff seed.

With Steph back and raring to go, the Warriors can make a late playoff push, and we know what happens once they make it to the big stages. Cometh the hour, cometh the man.

Kerr talks about James Wiseman and his 30-point performance

While talking about the team, Kerr was also asked about James Wiseman’s progress.

After being sent to the G-League and then being called back, Wiseman did not waste his chance in Brooklyn. Despite a historical trashing, Wiseman managed to put up a career night. He scored 30 points on 85% FG while coming off the bench.

It’s great to see Wiseman play as he did. The more confidence he gets, and the more reps he gets under his belt, the sooner we’ll get the #2 pick back with the main roster and contribute towards winning.
