"Kevin Durant's fadeaway attempt was rejected by Matisse Thybulle": Team USA forward suffers an embarrassing block during the exhibition game loss against Australia

During Team USA’s shocking 91-83 loss against Australia, Kevin Durant received an embarrassing block by Matisse Thybulle.

No other country in the world has as many talented basketball players as the USA. The country is so dominant that they have won the Gold Medal at the Olympic Games an incredible 15 out of 19 times, since 1936.

This year too, the USA have the most deadly team on paper. With superstars like Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, Damian Lillard, Jayson Tatum and more headlining the team, they have been deemed as the immediate favourites to defend their Olympic Gold Medal in this year’s Tokyo 2021 Games.

Being considered as the greatest basketball playing nation ever, Team USA has been left in shock after they lost back-to-back exhibition games, first to Nigeria and on Monday night, to Australia, by a decent margin of 93-81.

“Matisse Thybulle swatting the best scorer in the world”: NBA fans go crazy as the Australian guard rejects Kevin Durant’s fadeaway attempt

To make matters more embarrassing for team USA, Kevin Durant, one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history, got rejected by Matisse Thybulle on a fadeaway attempt. The 7-footer forward, who has a 7-foot-5 wingspan, was blocked by the Philadelphia 76er defensive threat, with a little more than 6 minutes left in the game.

Matisse’s role in Australia’s win was absolutely clinical. The 6-foot-5 All-Defensive player brought his energy on both the ends of the court, finishing the game with an impressive 12 points, 3 steals and 2 blocks stat line.

As for KD and co, the last couple of days haven’t been as they would’ve liked it to be. With less than two weeks remaining for the commencement of the 2021 Olympic Games, Team USA will have to start looking like the deadly team that they seem to be on paper.
