"LeBron James and Anthony Davis are not number 1 and 2”: Skip Bayless dismisses ESPN ranking 2 Lakers at the top

Skip Bayless takes to Undisputed to say that he believes LeBron James and Anthony Davis shouldn’t be ranked no. 1 and no. 2 in ESPN Top 100.

ESPN is known for ranking their top 100 players in the NBA, going into the upcoming season. Each year, there are a multitude of players that are ranked much higher or lower than they should be.

This year, ESPN had Zion Williamson ranked ahead of established superstars in this league such as Paul George, Kyrie Irving, Karl Anthony Towns, and more. Lonzo Ball was ranked ahead of DeMar DeRozan and Zach Lavine.

ESPN wrapped up their top 100 by revealing their top 10 players, just a few hours ago. Skip Bayless immediately took to Twitter and Undisputed to discuss where his ‘favorite’ player LeBron James landed on this list.

Skip Bayless disagrees with where Anthony Davis and LeBron James are ranked.

ESPN top 10 revealed that they believe LeBron James and Anthony Davis are the best and 2nd best players, respectively, going into the 2020-21 NBA season.

It was only a matter of time until Skip Bayless was on the scene to cover this story. Surprisingly enough, he did not belittle LeBron as much as he is accustomed to.

He said, “I do not agree with ranking LeBron and AD #1 and #2. To me, you should be disqualified from being #1 if your teammate is #2.”

It would be assumed that it be difficult for two players to be the 2 best in the world when on the same team. This would be due to each limiting each other’s true capabilities so everyone gets enough touches.

However, LeBron and Davis play so beautifully off one another, as pointed out by Bayless, and have so much on-court chemistry, that neither hampers the other’s game.

If there were going to be two teammates who make the top 2 on ESPN’s top 100, it would most certainly have to be LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
