“Look Out for the Lakers With a Revitalized LeBron James!”: Skip Bayless Praises Anthony Davis After Huge Win Over Bulls

The Los Angeles Lakers made their way to Chicago tonight to take on the Bulls. Having faced them at home on Sunday, LeBron James and the Lakers suffered a 118-108 loss in front of the Crypto.com Arena audience.

However, the Lakers went on the road with a much higher level of focus. Anthony Davis put the team on his back as he scored 38 points, grabbed ten rebounds, dished four assists, got two steals, and blocked two shots. LeBron James had 25 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. The Lakers took home the win 121-110.

This win helped the Lakers get back on the 8th seed, pushing the Pelicans down to the 9th. With six games left in the season, there are a lot of things that can happen to the team. Skip Bayless feels like they’re going to pose a big threat.

Skip Bayless uncharacteristically hypes up LeBron James and the Lakers

For as long as I can remember, Skip Bayless has been a huge LeBron James ‘critic’ who waits for any and every opportunity to mock the King and bring him down. However, the same has changed ever since January.

For the past three months, we’ve seen Skip randomly come up with praise for the NBA’s Scoring King while also looking for ways to mock him. I guess it all started once he was under big fire for his tone-deaf tweet about Damar Hamlin. After tonight’s win over the Bulls, Skip tweeted, showing great faith in the Lakers and what they can accomplish this season.

The Lakers have been a different team since the trade deadline, and it’s exciting to see what their ceiling will be.

How far can the Lakers go?

With six games left in the season for the Purple and Gold, they are 1.5 games behind the 6th-seeded Warriors. Even though it won’t be easy, the Lakers cant be ruled out as a potential 6th seed. At the same time, they’re 1.5 games ahead of the 11th-seeded Mavericks. For them to mess things up and lose out on everything isn’t out of the realm of possibility yet as well.

With LeBron James back, and Anthony Davis playing like he is, I think the Lakers will manage to hold on to the 7th/8th seed, and make it past the first round of the play-in tournament. However, potentially facing the Grizzlies in the 1st round of playoffs wouldn’t be easy for the team.
