“Michael Jordan is One of the Greatest”: ‘Spiteful’ Scottie Pippen’s Old Comments on MJ Resurface Amid ‘Horrible Player’ Controversy
Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan achieved a lot together. Of course, they won 6 rings together, all coming as part of two different three-peats. Furthermore, they are considered the two best members of the greatest team of all time. From every angle, these two men had a very close bond. But then, of course, things changed rather quickly after the release of the Last Dance documentary. And going off just that tone, Scottie Pippen spitefully called Michael Jordan ‘horrible‘ during a recent interview.
During their Bulls days, MJ and Scottie were like brothers. They did everything together and held each other in the highest regard. Heck, even when Jordan was beyond exhausted after ‘the flu game’, it’s Pippen arms that he rested on. And yet, things can go sour so quickly. Things haven’t looked very rosy between the two lately. So, old interviews where the two are practically flirting with each other only become more adorable. And it appears that one of the best ones has chosen to resurface within the NBA community.
Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan adorably complemented each other in an old interview
As mentioned before, in the past, Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan were beyond fond of each other. And that seemed to be the case both on and off the court. And perhaps there is no better display of that than the interview in the Bookmakers Review’s tweet below.

MJ: “I think Scottie (Pippen) has shown that he certainly has grown to be a great player in this game. I think when I said that earlier, I didn’t really have any reservations about saying that… It’s his team. I’m just coming back (to the NBA from baseball) to try and help him”
Scottie: “They are great compliments coming from one of the greatest players to ever play the game, that’s what I’ve always said…”
Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan were so chummy together it’s hard to believe the two are now basically mortal enemies. Frankly, it’s hard to see, to the point where it’s important to revisit whatever was the genesis of all this.
Jordan and Scottie started beefing due to an odd reason
‘The Last Dance’ documentary was supposed to be about the final run of the iconic Chicago Bulls side that won 2 three-peats together. Instead, rather predictably, it turned out to be a story about Michael Jordan, with all his teammates being nothing more than the supporting cast.
Pippen felt a certain way about it and how this wasn’t how it was all supposed to be. So, he was already a bit angry at his former teammate and started a narrative about Jordan being overhyped. On the other hand, MJ hasn’t had much of a comment outside of what he said in the Last Dance. However, it’s unlikely that he still feels any love for his former #2.
