"Ricky Rubio and Kevin Durant traded blows like MVPs": NBA Twitter reacts to 95-81 victory, with Kevin Durant guiding Team USA with 29 points

NBA Twitter reacts as Team USA massively struggles against the Spanish National Team in the Tokyo Olympics

The world has caught up, and Team USA has been getting a rude awakening to that fact over and over again during this tournament.

The superstars are there, the coach is there. Yet, USA just didn’t look even close to dominant until the very end of their game against Spain. And even then, other than Kevin Durant, who put up 29 points, on an incredible 59% from the field, no one really looked very good.

The team barely won this match, with a score of 95-81. Many expected them to dominate this game. So, the fact that most of the team was barely able to do anything until the final stages of the game, has disgruntled countless fans in the NBA community.

With the disbelief only increasing as the game goes on, let’s get into some of the stringer reactions from NBA Twitter.

“Team USA gave up a 16-3 run”: The NBA community lets it shock be known, as NBA superstars struggled against the team play of Spain

Even the victory for Team USA here is a worrying one. After all, the game shouldn’t have been this close in the first place.

There were more than just a few moments where fans thought that Spain would come away from the game triumphant. And of course, they let their disdain be known on Twitter. Here are just some of the posts.

We have to talk about Ricky Rubio here at least once. Despite being on the losing side of things, the Spaniard put up an incredible 38 points, on 69% from the field, and 57% from three. He was perhaps the biggest reason Spain was in this game for so long.

That aside though, with this victory, Team USA will be facing the winner between Australia and Argentina in the Semi-Finals. Who will be their opponents? Can they come away with the victory? Or will they finally collapse completely?

Only time will tell.
