“Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal can lead Wizards to compete for championship”: Chris Bosh expresses confidence in the Brody’s ability to power Washington in playoff setting
The Wizards’ star duo of Russell Westbrook and Bradley have guided the franchise to the NBA playoffs in their first season.
Former NBA Champion Chris Bosh does not want the Washington Wizards to trade any of their two superstars. In fact, he sees great potential in Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal to drive the franchise forward. Bosh feels that these two superstars have that charisma in them to outdo Michael Jordan during his stint with the Wizards.
While Russ and Beal in their first season combined pretty well and guided the Wizards to the playoffs. There were hardly any hopes of the postseason after a horrid start to their campaign.
But they were highly consistent at the back end of the regular season which saw them sneak into the play-ins. There, they lost the first match against the Celtics but came back strongly to defeat the Pacers and booked a place in the playoffs.
The former Miami Heat star believes that the duo can take the Wizards forward in coming years. He even predicted that with a good coach they have the potential of winning the NBA Championship. It may be a little far-fetched at this point, but if the duo plays at their best and gets great support from their bench, then there are possibilities.
“Wizards have what it takes to compete for a championship”: Chris Bosh speaks highly of Westbrook and Beal
The two-time NBA Champion with the Miami Heat appeared on ESPN’s The Jump. Despite knowing that the Wizards were dominated by the Philadelphia 76ers in Round 1, Bosh made some bold claims. He predicted the dup of Westbrook and Beal to win the Championship.

“I think that the Wizards have what it takes to really compete for a championship,” Bosh said. “I don’t think it’s any question that with Russ and with Bradley that they have tremendous talent.”
“They need a head coach to come in there and really perform right away, and you want their attitudes good coming into training camp. You want their confidence, and I think sometimes their recommendation and their voices, I think they should be heard. They could put themselves in a very strong position. Really like I said before, to compete for a championship in my mind. They’re right there.”
The Wizards are in search of a new coach after Scott Brooks parted ways. This was partly because of the fallout of their 4-1 defeat against the Sixers in Round 1 of the playoffs.
But now it will be interesting to see who they appoint as their new coach. Also, how much of an influence will the star dup have in the entire interview process.
