Warriors forward Draymond Green advices Sixers’ Joel Embiid to not shoot, and dominate in the paint like Shaquille O’Neal

The Philadelphia 76ers had their season cut short yesterday when Trae Young and the Hawks took them down in a 7 game series. The shooting woes of Ben Simmons are secret to none, and they became pretty clear during these playoffs.
Joel Embiid, who finished second on the MVP voting, was playing through an injury that he suffered in round 1 against the Wizards. There was a lack of support for Embiid, who could not find a consistent second player to support him, while he tried to carry the team on his shoulders.
Credit also goes to Nate McMillian, Trae Young and the Hawks, who entered the series as the underdogs, and emerged victorious. During the much-hyped Game 7, Draymond Green, just like the rest of us, was watching on his TV and was tweeting along.
Draymond Green wanted Joel Embiid to not shoot, dominate the paint instead
The Sixers and the Hawks fought tooth and nail the whole Game 7. Joel Embiid finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds. Joel was making a living in the paint, acting as a dominant force. However, in the later parts of the game, Joel started relying more on distance shooting than making his way to the paint.
While Embiid is a decent shooter, his post-ups in the paint are much stronger. Draymond Green put it as his tweet, and asked if someone could remind Embiid to touch the paint again. Green wanted JoJo to dominate the paint like Shaq used to.
Now, someone go to Joel and tell him not to shoot another jumper but shoot the ball every play. Go Shaq mode.

However, even after his tweet, there were no changes. Dray put out another tweet almost midway through 4th quarter, yet there was no effect.
Remember those jumpers. Go bury yourself in the post! Not rocket science 🤷🏿♂️

The Sixers have a lot of thinking to do in this offseason. If they want a chance to compete for the title, they must complement Joel Embiid while he is at his best right now.
