Ever since Anthony Edwards and Co. faced back-to-back losses to finish 4th at the FIBA World Cup, Shaquille O’Neal has constantly been posting about Team USA on his social media. Shaq is a huge fan of discussing hypothetical contests. The TNT analyst often posts such imaginary duels on his Instagram and asks his fans for their opinions on the same. O’Neal is back at it. This time he asked his followers to select between the two – a Stephen Curry and LeBron James-led Team USA or a Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Team World.

A few days ago, Shaquille O’Neal posted a graphic of three All-NBA Teams for the 21st century. Unsurprisingly, O’Neal agreed with the list considering his inclusion in the First Team alongside Stephen Curry, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Tim Duncan. Only a day later, Shaq posted another graphic that included two groups of three Centers each – one from the 1990s and the other from the 2000s. Shaq was content not picking any sides since he was part of both eras.
Shaquille O’Neal asks fans to select between a hypothetical Team USA vs. Team World contest
In his recent Instagram post, Shaquille O’Neal shared a graphic that involved a hypothetical matchup between Team USA and Team World. Team USA consisted of the likes of Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis. Whereas, Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and Joel Embiid were Team World’s starting lineup.
Usually, Shaq isn’t diplomatic with his response. Known for speaking his mind out, the Big Aristotle couldn’t seem to select between the two. Asking his fans for their opinion, the Los Angeles Lakers legend wrote:
dam i honestly can’t answer. who you got?

To be fair to Shaq, both of these lineups are extremely talented and accomplished. It is absolutely difficult to pick a side for a hypothetical contest. However, it is worth noting that the last five MVP awards were won by three players from Team World’s lineup.
Fans decided to weigh in on the debate. One fan mentioned that he would instantly select Team USA if O’Neal was on the lineup instead of Davis.
If there was Shaq instead of AD, I will say USA 💯💯💯
Another user also made everyone aware of the American citizenship that Joel Embiid acquired a year ago.
Embiid now has American citizenship Unc. He will prolly play for the USA Team next year (hopefully)
While predicting a winner between the two is impossible, it is certain that this imaginary contest would be an action-packed thriller.
Shaq reveals his Team USA squad for the 2024 Olympics
Team USA sent a pretty well-constructed roster to participate in the FIBA World Cup. Merely a game into the campaign, Steve Kerr fixed his starting five – Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, and Jaren Jackson Jr. The likes of Paolo Banchero, Austin Reaves, and Tyrese Haliburton were extremely energetic coming off the bench.
Despite being highly touted to win gold, Team USA suffered losses against Lithuania, Germany (Semifinals), and Canada (3rd place). With their 4th place finish, everyone expects Team USA to send a star-studded roster for the upcoming 2024 Olympics.
