Steph Curry had a phenomenal 2020-21 NBA season. Though the 3x NBA champion could not make it to the Playoffs, he was a walking highlight reel during the regular season.
The 7x NBA All-Star led the league in scoring this year, averaging 32.0 PPG on a 48.2% shooting from the field and 42.1% shooting from the 3-point line.
Steph Curry joined the likes of Nikola Jokic, Luka Donic, and Chris Paul among other nominees for the honor. An interesting observation here would be that Curry was the only player to not make it to the Playoffs among the other nominees.
The former 2x NBA MVP shattered an umpteen no of records this season. Curry was definitely the most entertaining player to watch this year.
Stephen Curry’s path-breaking 2020-21 NBA season
The Golden State Warriors entered the 2020-21 season with minimal expectations. Klay Thompson was out for the 2nd consecutive season as he had suffered an Achilles tear. Curry was coming off a broken hand that had made him miss most of the 2019-20 season.
The Warriors 2019-20 season was one of the worst seasons in franchise history. The Dubs finished the season with a mere 15 wins and were at the bottom of the NBA table.
However, Curry took the reigns of the Warriors in the 2020-21 season and led the team from the front. The league feared facing the baby-faced assassin, who was a threat as soon as he crossed the off-court.
Chef Curry had the best phase of his career, especially during April and May. Steph surpassed Wilt Chamberlain as the all-time leading scorer of the Warriors.

In the 15 games during April, he averaged 37.3 PPG on a 51.8% shooting from the field and 46.6% from the 3-point line. Curry broke the record for most no of three-pointers made in a calendar month.
The 2x 3-point contest winner surpassed Reggie Miller on the list of all-time three-pointers made. Curry made a record-breaking 337 three-pointers this season.
Steph Curry finished 3rd in the MVP race and was named First-Team All-NBA, he was also crowned the 2021 scoring champion.
Steph Curry is one of the most influential players ever to step on the NBA hardwood. The NBA is more guard-dominant today than it ever was and a major reason for it is the baby-faced assassin, who changed the way the game is played today.
The ESPY awards take place on 10th July in the city of New York.
