“Trae Young looks like an All-NBA player”: Kendrick Perkins hands rave reviews to Hawks star as they take 3-2 series lead with comeback win vs Sixers
Kendrick Perkins weighs in on the Atlanta Hawks’ historical comeback against the Philadelphia 76ers in game 5, praises Trae Young.
The Atlanta Hawks have yet again put the league on notice by making the fourth biggest playoff comeback in NBA history, against the Philadelphia 76ers.
A game that seemed pretty lopsided in favour of the 76ers for the longest time quickly turned into a nightmare that might come back to haunt them very soon. Following this Game 5 victory, the Hawks are up 3-2 and will return to Atlanta for Game 6 hoping to end the series at home.
Despite suffering from a 26 point deficit at one point and struggling to find an offensive edge against the 76ers, the end of the 3rd quarter saw Hawks veteran Lou Williams bring in winds of change scoring 13 points in just 4 mins. the momentum they gained never seemed to fade away.
Needless to say Trae Young put on an enthralling performance scoring a playoff career-high 39 points to lead the comeback. Out of the 39 points scored by Trae, 25 came in the second half of the game as he seemed to play with a sense of urgency.
The 22-year-old point guard is making waves this season with a regular display of grit and tenacity well beyond his age and now regularly finds himself at the receiving end of high praise from fans and basketball pundits all around the world.
Analyst Kendrick Perkins believes Trae Young played like an All-NBA player last night
Espn analyst Kendrick Perkins known for his passionate and hyperbolic takes was quick to share his opinion regarding Trae Young’s masterful performance against the 76ers.
Giving credit where it is due, Big Perk seemed extremely impressed with Ice Trae’ 39 point game labelling him an All-NBA player and following it up with a jab at the 76ers star player Ben Simmons, who has been criticised time and again for his inability to shoot the ball.
Trae Young looks like an All-NBA player tonight got Damn it. I told y’all it was an Ice Storm in June and Philadelphia was one of the cities that were getting it the worse. Ice Trae brought a 39 piece wing dinner lemon pepper Lou style to Ben Simmons and the 76ers! Carry on…

As the Hawks return home for a Game 6 one can only imagine the love and support they will receive especially after the breathtaking performances they’ve put up in the last two games against the 76ers.
On the other hand, the 76ers will have to dig deep to force a game seven or else return home having suffered a fate worse than the 2019 eastern conference semifinals against the Toronto raptors.
