"We Just Didn't Get Along": Shaquille O'Neal Makes Doc Rivers' Controversial Words on Chris Paul Even Louder

Shaquille O’Neal doesn’t often hold back his tongue. After all, the fact of the matter is, this is the man that just loves sharing his opinions with the world, even when no one asks for them. The worst part is, he does this without even knowing the names of most NBA players… as an analyst… on the best NBA TV show on the air today.

That said, no matter how unfairly blunt his opinions can be sometimes, they aren’t often very false. Yes, the man doesn’t care for one’s feelings when he criticizes them, and perhaps he should. However, the man is still a Hall of Famer. You’re going to need a certain amount of basketball IQ to make that happen.

With all that intelligence, the man recently got on Instagram, where some of Doc Rivers’ words resonated with him. So, he simply decided to share them with the world.

Doc Rivers was beyond critical of his LA Clippers side from back in the day

Doc Rivers is often regarded as one of the best head coaches in the NBA right now, and it’s not without reason. Not only has the man won a championship as the Celtics’ coach, but he has also since maintained a very high standard for his teams in the NBA. That said, the man’s Lob City Clippers side has made some of the fans’ most sensational memories. And yet, the man recently came out with some harsh words for the team recently. Take a look below.

“That team was never going to win, when you look back at it. We just didn’t get along well enough as a group.”

To be fair to the coach here, there is no one in the world who knows more on this matter more than him. And since he has won a championship, and knows exactly what is needed, his comments probably aren’t unjustifiable.

That said, it may have been a bit unnecessary, to say the least. At the end of the day, this was not a question that needed to be answered all these years later. But now, there will be a bit of a question mark on the legacies of players such as Blake Griffin and Chris Paul. There will be multiple people with doubts about if they were the problem, while others will swear they were. So frankly, while he may be right, saying this now was beyond unnecessary.

How does Shaquille O’Neal feel about all this?

As we had mentioned earlier, Shaquille O’Neal is one of those people that is going to reveal his opinion in the bluntest of ways. So, you’d think that he more than supports this statement by Doc Rivers. And sure enough, the man shared it on his Instagram story.

This could be a nod toward Shaq saying that the team needs to get along to win a championship… or it could be that he never believed in the Clippers in the first place. Frankly, with O’Neal, it could go either way.
