While talking about the “Inside the NBA” cast, Charles Barkley names some professions which deserve more respect than basketball players.
In today’s day and age, watching pregame and postgame shows are just as exciting as the actual game itself. Hearing what top analysts and former legends of the game have to say is something that fans like to watch.
However, there is one particular show which is amongst the most popular because of its amusing, jovial and unscripted analysis of the league – “Inside the NBA“.
Hosted by Ernie Johnson, featured by Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, the postgame show for “NBA on TNT” is one of the widely admired studio shows in sports media for over three decades now.

Having its own documentary – “The Inside Story”, winning 15 Sports Emmy Awards, 6-time best daily show, 4-time best weekly show and many more, It is safe to say that this widely loved show is a huge success.
Quite often we have seen the “Inside the NBA” cast making fun of Sir Charles for not having a ring or Chuck roasting Shaq or the guys enjoying a game of dodgeball. Barkley reveals how these megastars allow their producers to have fun on their sets. While praising Ernie Johnson, on “The Dan Patrick Show”, Charles said:
“We so lucky. Ernie – we call him the godfather because he’s the man. And Shaq and Kenny are also something to work with.”
“We talking about stupid basketball. It’s so funny… I’ve been in this thing for 36 years. I tell the guys when they start taking themselves too seriously like ‘Yo man. You do know you play basketball, right?”
“You’re not like a doctor or somebody who’s in the army or who’s a teacher, fireman and a policeman, the people who like got a real job. You dribble a stupid basketball. You make more money than god’.”
“When you start taking yourself too serious, you need to take a step back like ‘yeah, I’m really not that important. I just play basketball.”
