Sasha Banks and Bayley lost the Women’s tag team titles to the unlikely team of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, at WWE Payback.
After an imperfect night at Summerslam, The Golden Role Models were up against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler to defend their women’s tag team titles. The past week, WWE teased a future clash between the SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and her best friend Sasha Banks. But nothing of sorts took place at Payback, as Jax and Baszler won clean.
The Golden role Models Vs. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler: Match Summary
Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax formed an unlikely team even after continuously expressing dislike for each other. Their reluctance to work as a team was visible in the match, and that proved to be favorable for the Golden Role models, at least for the most part.
The match saw individual brilliance from both Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, and they eventually started to click as a team. Sasha Banks and Bayley’s chemistry was ever present as well, but in phases Jax and Baszler dominated. Nia Jax lived up to her name as an Irresistible force as she steamrolled both Banks and Bayley outside the ring. Baszler with a UFC history, demonstrated her supreme wrestling ability. In the end it was Baszler, the queen of spades, who implied Kirifuda Clutch on Bayley and at the same time had Banks in her shackles as well. Baszler by force used Sasha’s forearm to her advantage and pressed Bayley harder, to make her tap ultimately.
